At the very young age of 5 years old, I decided to take football as my future career. With no direct examples in my personal surroundings, I had a burning desire to succeed as a professional football player. It was the future I wanted with all my heart, and it was all I could think about.

Right after my first steps on a football field I quickly found out that great football skills do not come easily. It would be hard work, and listening to trainers and coaches. There’s never enough knowledge to know or skills to have when it comes to football. You always need to learn more in order to stay at the top of the pack.

Having the correct goals in mind is what kept me moving at that time, and it still does. I want to become a successful footballer, so I need to set realistic goals for myself.

Beside the football skills, I needed to learn to listen to the advice given by my trainers and coaches. Also, the advice from fellow players can be valuable. A great deal of the skills you will need are listening skills.
